With over twenty years of experience in counseling, Dorann Tanner is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, families, and professionals navigate life’s challenges and achieve optimal mental and emotional well-being. She specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, and Reality-Based Therapy, tailoring each approach to the unique needs of her clients.
Dorann has extensive experience working with a diverse range of clients, including adults, teens, and children. She is particularly passionate about supporting educators, educational administrators, counselors, church leaders, and social workers. She understands the unique pressures and challenges faced by those in the educational and social services fields and is committed to providing the support they need to thrive both personally and professionally.

Throughout her career, Dorann has received numerous accolades for her outstanding contributions to the field of social work. She was honored with the Ronda Cotten Student Services Excellence Award by the Alabama Department of Education , the Sue Adams Student Services Leadership Award , and was named National School Social Worker of the Year by the School Social Work Association of America to name a few.

In Her Personal Life
Dorann and her husband have called the Birmingham area home for over 25 years. Their son, a graduate of Auburn University, is currently pursuing his graduate studies at the University of Alabama. Their daughter is also attending Auburn University. Dorann has a passion for animals, sports, and traveling.
