Dorann Wilburn Tanner has over fifteen years’ experience in counseling. Mrs. Tanner works with adults, teens, and children. She specializes in cognative-behavior therapy, client-centered, and reality-based therapy. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families. She is passionate about helping clients feel safe, valued, and appreciated while helping them reach their optimal health. She believes in holistic, relationship-centered counseling. Mrs. Tanner received the Ronda Cotten Student Services Excellence Award from the Alabama Department of Education in 2016, the Sue Adams Student Services Leadership Award in 2017, and in 2018, was named National School Social Worker of the Year by the School Social Work Association of America.
In Her Personal Life
Mrs. Tanner lives in Alabaster with her husband, two children, and three crazy dogs. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in counseling from the University of the Cumberlands.
