Our therapist Alexandra Baugh is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works primarily with adolescents and adults. She specializes in eating disorders, substance use disorders, and trauma-related disorders. Alex is an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist who is EMDR trained, utilizing experiential and evidence-based approaches, such as art therapy, client centered theories, and motivational interviewing to meet clients where they are. Valuing the power of connection through vulnerability, Alex works to empower each client on their personal journey. As a person centered therapist, Alexandra Baugh takes a holistic approach to therapy that encompasses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of each client. Alex sees the client as the expert in their own life and strives to truly understand personal and individualized goals. She believes all perspectives to be an excellent resource for therapy and affirms her clients with nonjudgmental support and positive regard.
Alex has lived in Birmingham for 9 years. When she is at home with her husband, two dogs, and two cats, she enjoys good food and a good tv show. Alex was a former competitive figure skater who today enjoys playing with her dogs, baking, video games, and making pottery in her free time.
